2003 Grant Recipients

ADA Indiana's 2003 Grants were awarded to the following organizations:

Hiring and Supporting People with Disabilities - Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Diversity Team

The Diversity Team of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce developed a comprehensive handbook to help area employers understand their obligations under the ADA.

Location: Monroe County

Outcomes:

  • Printed and disseminated 1000 copies of the handbook.
  • The booklet was well received by the press and the community.
  • The booklet prompted a visit from Bob Pasternack (who at the time was an Assistant Secretary with the U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitative Services) who praised the book and encouraged businesses to hire people with disabilities.
  • Other states and communities in Indiana have requested copies of the template to customize the booklet for their areas.

If you would like a copy of this publication, please email adainfo@indiana.edu for the most up-to-date version.
