October 10, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. ET Free Webinar: Disability Justice Approach to Disability Assistance

This is a free webinar offered through the Emergency Management and Preparedness - Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities Webinar Series, hosted by the Pacific ADA Center.

Excerpt from the Pacific ADA Center:

An interactive virtual workshop on Disability Justice approaches to disaster assistance that recognizes histories of harm and centers communities of color. The session will be co-facilitated by Justice Shorter who serves as the Disaster Protection Advisor for the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) and Valerie Novack who is currently a Portlight Fellow at the Center for American Progress. Together, they will use Title II of the ADA and the 10 Disability Justice Principles created by Sins Invalid to guide participants through critical questions that call for a nationwide reimagining of more equitable and effective state/local emergency management practices.

Free webinar but registration is required. To Register: http://adapresentations.org/scheduleEM.php
