What You Missed Last Month: Archive of ADA Trainings from December

What you missed in December: ADA Webinars and other Online Events

Last month, there were several training opportunities on the ADA and related topics. Here are some highlights. Each archive includes the presenter(s) materials in multiple formats as well as a link to the recording of the webinar session.

Webinar: Serving Customers with Disabilities: A Toolkit

This is a free webinar offered through the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center.

From the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center:

This webinar will preview our newest customer service training resource for frontline employees. If you manage a business, professional office, government office, etc., you know how important it is for frontline staff to provide exemplary customer service to people with disabilities. Our customer service toolkit will help you train your staff by giving them both practical guidance and fundamental principles for appropriate and respectful interactions. The webinar will also be useful to anyone with a general interest in disability awareness topics.

Webinar: Common Sources of Confusion in the ADA and ABA Standards

This is a free webinar offered through a collaboration of the U.S. Access Board and the ADA National Network.

From the Great Lakes ADA Center:

Certain provisions in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Accessibility Standards are prone to misinterpretation and generate many of the technical inquiries the Access Board receives. This webinar will review and clarify these “hot spots” in the standards. Reviewers will untangle common sources of confusion, including those concerning application of the standards in new construction and alterations, employee work areas, toilet rooms, signs, detectable warnings, and other topics.
